The Aberdares reserve is an area of ​​mountains covered with forests. It is at the bend of the track that you can come across a group of elephants or a herd of buffaloes. The pond, in front of the Ark Lodge, is the scene of confrontations between these two species.

The Giant forest Hog (Hylochoerus meinertzhageni), is much rarer and just as impressive.
